Parking on the road to the E by the end of the track, then easy stroll along first the track/drive then ROW to summit, great views today and not a soul around :) sat for a while then returned the same route.

parked up lane c.315m contour near The White house. space for numerous. an easy scamper across short cropped grass. cheers to the sheepies and horsies. trig in good nick with asphalt plug. brick structure an unusual addition. views really muted today with haze. shame as I can imagine on a crisp day theres a spectacular panorama...

Revisit. What a lovely day to spend an hour or so on this great hill. There is now a beacon in the brick radio tracking station. Views superb today, all 360 degrees. Had to ring the owner of a very friendly but lost dog. Also revisited Garway church & Wilton Castle in Ross. Great day!

After walk Sugar Loaf and Bryn Arw in the Brecon Beacons we drove to Gwern.Y.Cae field trig and walked up to Garway Hill trig. Nice little hill.

Camped the night at Burrup Farm campsite nearby to do this hill and also Aconbury Camp, another Marilyn across the border in Hereford. Interesting WWII structure next to the trig. Garway Common is open access land. Paths a bit confusing, on the way down we wanted to visit White Rocks south of the trig, but somehow missed them! Note to self - brush up on map reading skills... The trig? Oh, that's fine.

Parked at the interesting Templar Knights church of St.Michael in Garway,then a fair old slog up the hill meeting an unfriendly ram on the way! Nice pillar, excellent 360o views.Pretty cloudy & chilly. Theres 2 (Satanic?) Pentagrams painted on the floor inside the 1942 radio tracking station tower. One of my local hills that I have been meaning to climb for some time.Worth an 8 on a better day

Remains of wartime radio station alongside. Pond just down the hill is called Black Pool. The radio mast (now gone) was called Blackpool Tower.
