Popular spot. Easy find, next to Vanguard Way path. Great views to north and west. Pillar is painted a reddish brown colour rather like the pillar at Hindleap. A little further on to the north is Galleons Leap view point.

Surprise find whilst walking doing the Adventure Lab and visiting Pooh Bridge - sadly not much water to play pooh sticks though! Another very hot day. Trig in excellent condition as far as I could see, and has a definite reddish tinge to it!

Small layby on E side road at TQ 4694 3180. Direct from there, although by walking N on the road 60m there's a wide break throught the gorse and bracken. Pillar sits to one side of a circular stand of conifers. It has a very reddish tinge to it; original top cap retained, deeply indented lettering; LHS sight hole open. Views to NW only.

After a restorative ice cream in the car park (11 mile walk so thought we deserved it) wandered on to here. Limited views but those from A A Milne memorial a bit further N very good. Trig has metal cap, indented letters, E s/hole open (has happened since Lathama log in March 2011) but otherwise excellent condition.

Revisit to this one 7 years on - Condition unchanged - I think I first came to all the pillars on Ashdown Forest in the 70's on a Scout map reading exercise, loverly area, lots of great walks and views. AA Milne Memorial worth a visit too a few meters away.

Glorious afternoon and it was so quiet and still at this pillar with conifers all round that you could have been in the middle of the Siberian taiga! A red snadstone pillar close to the AA Milne Memorial; half expected Pooh or Piglet or Kanga to come bounding out from somewhere! Original plug with deeply indented letters; sightholes closed. No real views from here but such an evocative spot.

Misty murky early morning in Winnie the Pooh country; parked at Piglets car park and TP just above A A Milne memorial. In small clearing just below nearby high point. TP in vgc - rusty red colour with original plug and sightholes blocked. No view to speak of due to murk.

Trig still in good condiction, still sporting the central plug of the spider. Views are cut down due to vigourus tree growth around this pillar. My First Visit was 26-12-1994 (i was probably only as high as the trig itself), sufficee say not much springs to mind about it.

Set high on Ashdown Forest in Winnie the Pooh country, (AKA "The Enchanted Place"). The scenery and views ensure that it lives up to its name. The pillar itself is in good condition, albeit a little on the grubby side.
