HISTORY: Pillar completed 27th October 1954 costing £83.6s.0d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NH54/15 within the Inverness block during 1955. Levelled for height in 1956. Last maintained by the OS in June 1976. SITE VISIT: Three trig 20½ mile circuit starting and finishing at Snenval. Approached from WSW. From Meall A Chrathaich in near straight line via bealachs circumnavigating lochans and intervening peaks. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with raised large narrow letters. Flush bracket faces NNE, ~15°. Vented through NW sight hole. Full 360° panorama. Returned to car via estate track through NH419256 after wading across the River Coiltie.

Trig in V good order. Spider centre retains OS cap with raised lettering. Previously visited this Graham 07/01/99 no trig details noted. Wind speed test-mast on SW slopes and if today was typical look out for a wind factory sometime soon. Lost my Ortleib map-case containing OS Landrangers 26 & 34 on the SE slopes towards Meall Fuar-mhonaidh.

vgc, metal cap, wide raised letters. Decent summit, fine views on a crisp December day (-7C when I got back to the car). 18 mile 3 trig circuit with Meall A Chrathaich, S7731, Graham Tops etc from Shenval. Descend NW to cross river (shallow ford) then good tracks back to Shenval. 10 years minus 3 days since my first visit (Inverness at Xmas often a good bet).
