Really tricky to get to as the footpath up the hill was so deep with mud it was impassable. Also herd of young skittish heifers and a bull really interested in the interloper trying to get through mud. Gave up and walked in field on the other side of the hedge, needed to be skinny to get through the fence post by stile to gain access to field the trig point is in. Trig point surrounded by badger sett fairly dodgy walking as there were lots of very large holes.

First of two trigs going down to Luton to pick up lad from airport. Planned on parking in Upper Heyford but went N up to end of lane towards the trig and parked on a verge. Took path NE to gate and spotted trig in NNW/SSE aligned hedge on E side of hedge. Horses, friendly enough, spotted me as I walked up to the trig which had some fairly decent views from it.

A lot of erosion under the NW face so that the concrete base is about 15" proud of the surface. Good views east over Northamptonshire but western views obscured at this time of year by the hedge. M1 noise very apparant and you can see it well just a few yards into the field.
