Route as per previous visitors. Road end has a No Parking notice so kept well to side and away from gate. Tracks show that vehicles do actually access the 'road'. At end of road as shown on map go straight ahead along faint track to the wall. Cross at a gap then veer left, first descending then ascending gently through larch trees. Widely spaced so trig found more easily than I thought it might be. No views.

Managed to find it just working from the contours on the map without using the compass, but I didn't see it until I was about a metre away: it is fairly well camouflaged having gathered some moss.

Log #115. Started from 195 245 at the generously provided parking area. An enjoyable, fairly flat walk to the end of the track, then the GPS came in handy to find the pillar in the woodland. Indented cap is intact, and the pillar is in good condition - covered in lichen and pine needles. [ExP-104/MiP-2/Rev-1/BM-8]

Indented cap and spider.

failed for second time to locate this one but glad to meet Wubbleyew who had more success. I too got sodden from the wet grass. Will return with boots.

Met a fellow trigpointer for the very first time; it's often a very lonely experience! He was returning down the track after unsuccessfully searching for this pillar, and had cycled here from Guildtown (pronounced Gilton I discovered). He didn't seem to know about this website so I informed him - hopefully another member soon. I was luckier in my quest, although this one is a little tricky to locate hidden as it is within the trees. The long grass was dew-soaked and I quickly became sodden from the knees down. Strong fox scents in this area: played Reynardine by Fairport Convention back in the car to celebrate this uncomfortable but gratifying search.

From north. Parking at start of track--says NO PARKING, but...... Track a bit overgrown in places, vegetation head height, but easily followed.

I can understand why nobody else has braved this one yet. Laborious climb from the SW, and the track out to the north is overgrown with whins. In woods, not at summit. Conifers grown somewhat since my earlier visit. Pillar VGC. Spider has OS plug with indented lettering. FB faces 320, NW. Vented through back sighting hole. No view. S5919 built 14th March 1950. Tertiary station in Block NO02, Perth. Revisited and photographed 24/09/2005, GRP.
