Short walk from the CP to the S on an icy cold but clear afternoon, which ended in a beautiful sunset. Trig has no views due to surrounding tree cover, but is still a lovely shade of green, is very well maintained and in excellent condition, with asphalt cap and all s/holes still closed.

New plaque on trig Sadly it would seem Peter Martin has passed away, but his family clearly still care for this pillar©Trigpoint100

Plaque on rear aspect states "This pillar is in the care of the Martin family of Canford Heath". No views, but a pleasant spot.

The last T/P of the second day of my expedition. Easy off-road parking at the western end of the trail. A pleasant woodland walk up to the pillar, which for some strange reason was painted a particularly ‘pukey’ shade of green. It also sported an engraved plate claiming that it was in the ‘Care of the Martin Family’, whoever they may be. They don’t have a great deal of colour sense. The centre plug had been removed and the resulting hole filled with something indeterminate (and painted green). The pillar is surrounded by pine trees so there are no views to speak of.
