Parked on grass verge on B4211 to take the footpath/ track to the base of the hill. Taking the righthand path at the split up to the field corner. The first field is an open field, but the trig point is over the fence (northside) in the next field and not easy to reach.

Parked on B4211 and followed bridleway to a junction of paths. A track leads uphill and through a gap into a field. Cross the wall over a fence by a tree into the field with the pillar.

From Staits Farm (cut benchmark on barn gone), parking on grass verge. RoW to SO 81326 28300, then over a stile and across 2 pastures. Trig on N side hedgerow, but handy gap in hedge short distance E of trig. Pillar found with a chunk of one top corner missing - probably victim of hedgecutting operations. Original cap in place, lightly indented lettering; front & rear sight holes open, LHD side plug degrading. Some thorn and bramble cut back.

Took a few minutes to locate correct field having come up ROW from farm. Badly sliced finger in opening a gate, no reply at neighbourong houses, but a passing cyclist supplied some sticky tape to hold a clean tissue in place, or cycling on could have been very messy!

Parked near the junction & entered field opposite Flat Farm. Followed a track off the Whitmore Way passing several dirty ponds heading into the woods. Over 2 gates in quick succession then just kept heading up. Despite the rather dull walk, poor parking & damage to the pillar i'm giving this a 6 because the views across the Three Counties are surprisingly excellent with Gloucester itself very visible to the SE. Places like this should be on a ROW! Pillar is 1m short of summit. CORSE Wood Hill, not GORSE

We parked on the B4211 between Walker's Farm and Corse Hill Farm and approached from there. The fields are sheepy and the fences are not a problem apart from the nettles. The trig is to the north of the hedgeline so make sure you pick the right field. Grass track racing going on as previously mentioned. Plug with indented lettering.

Corner lost to a hedge trimmer. On the edge of a sheep field. Of course my approach was along the wrong side of the hedge, but a horse jump allowed the hedge to be crossed. Its on the north side. BTW its Corse Hill. No gorse, but a nearby Corse.
