Set of from near Leck Fell House and aimed straight up the fell to the pillar, sat on a bit of a plateau. The aim of tonight's walk was to reach the highest point of Lancashire on the top of Green Hill, a couple of miles along the ridge. Not as much fun as Coniston Old Man, which was Lancashire's top spot until 1974. How many mountains does Cumbria need?

Not a big fan of Crufts, however I give the two today to actual pure breeds and not these over priced "poo" types. A retriever called Baxer won.

West you can see Arnside Knott and Hutton Roof and Black Combe, Morecambe Bay, Lakes. East the Yorkshire Three Peaks. I believe this is now the Lancashire County Top. On first impression this pillar seemed quite tall, however prolonged inspection was interrupted by a number of hornets which seemed to be nesting in or very near to the trig!
