About two miles south east of Mareham on the Hill, through Low Hammeringham, at bend in road at top of hill road to south looks like it goes onto a nature reserve. Pulled over on driveway to south just beyond view of house at road. Into field to west and along field boundary, for approximately 400 metres. Then through gap in hedge to north side of hedge line, after another twenty metres pillar spotted at corner of field. Hidden on the approach. Views to north across farmland. Spider and cap in place.

(206) And the last one for the day. Thought I'd taken a wrong turning, but pulling over to check directions and chatting to a farmer, I was indeed in the right place. Permission was freely given, and he mentioned that he often has folks stop by to check out the pillar. He said I could drive part of the way if I wished, but I didn't want to risk the car, so decided to walk to the pillar. He then said 'Don't mind the Bull. He's never bothered me...' That's reassuring to know! :-) Pillar all good. Pillar history: Built on the 17th of September 1948, at a cost of £10 8s 7d. Last maintained by the OS in April of 1981.

Tried from east but farmer said no then went to Grange farm and was told by elderly farmer to drive to it across field of cows !!! He said field was flat and cows would run away Field was flatish and cows did run away so up to old gate as directed for short walk in trig field Thanks very nice farmer

Second of two trigs of the day. Parked on the bend of the road and walked down the lane. Trig is near the inside corner of a field on the N side of a E-W hedge near to a tree. Good views of rolling Lincolnshire countryside to the W. This trig, I hope, completes all the pillar trigs on Explorer map 273. Felt a sort of chuffed doing it. Trigging certainly gets you to parts other walks don't.

Orientriggering, just the sort of thing to do coming up to a full supper moon!!! A good place for Oaksave too return for an 86th birthday celebration!!

A joint visit with Carole. We parked on the road corner to the north-east. Then walked down the driveway to enter the field through a conveniently located open gateway. Then it was just a matter of following the hedgeline to the pillar. It is in good condition and still retains an original plug.

Accessed in the same way as the previous loggers, but late on a misty February day, so no view to be enjoyed, if there is one in this part of Lincolshire. Nevertheless, I was pleased to log this one as it is fairly local for me, but outstanding for a long time.
