Approached on foot from the west along the busy main road. Probably better to either drive and park in the lay-by or visit when roads are quieter. Visible in the hedge on the south side of the road, just. Need to get onto the other side to photograph the FB. Very overgrown so a bit of a scramble through the brambles and trees. Just enough late afternoon daylight to penetrate the vegetation for FB number. Marked down because of busy and dirty roadside location.

On way home from a weekend in Skegness with my daughter. Her 7th trig and second in a week! There is a layby heading W on the S side of the A158 just after Sausthorpe. It isn't advertised until you are almost on top of it, so prepare as you drive up the hill. Once out of the car there is an obvious path taking you behind the layby into the field. Turn left and look for the pillar, which was hidden a bit in the hedge as it is August. Melissa spotted it first and we both managed to battle through and touch the trig. Condition appears good and will hopefully remain so, given the rural location. Nice views S across lovely Lincolnshire.

(183) Situated, rather handily, at a layby. On a day when all the roads was super busy with fast moving traffic, this was indeed most welcome. Pillar history: Built on the 23rd of April 1950, at a cost of £11 14s 8d. Last maintained by the OS in April of 1981.

On way to Skeggy to see beached sperm whale (but council removed it the previous night) and caught glimpse of trig on the right as I drove past. It's in the lay by and in a good position in terms of views N and S when you get through the hedge.

Behind the eastern edge of a layby. Good for a re visit thirteen years down the road. I specifically remember an attractive pic I took with ivy growing up the south side. This time south side obscured by blackthorn hedge growth so I got out my secateurs.

A joint visit with Carole. We virtually drove up to this one as it is at the side of a convenently located lay-by. Pillar is in good condition and still retains an original plug.
