1" bolt in block, with two bricks on top flush with ground. made same mistake as iainmac: lining up with house the block is 3.5m to R. At top of bank 2m from road edge. Bricks carefully replaced, they just fit.

For some reason was expecting a pillar here! Phone app soon had me on the right lines. There shouldn't be a problem locating this block again as long as owner/tenant of cottage opposite keeps the grass cut as they've inserted 2 house bricks over the block and flush with the grass. 1" bolt set in concrete - an easy find after all.

This surface block was quite tricky as it’s outside a house. After walking up and down a few times I investigated a small dug hole on the grass and hit it. Thanks to whoever found this and made it accessible otherwise it would be 2-3” underground!

Sorry to contradict previous logs, but this block is very much alive and well. It may be that it was hidden by growth previously - it's very visible now.
