Another quarter of a mile south east along the road, just enough room on verge on roadside to pull over. West along path on ridge (Grim’s Dyke presumably). Pillar came into view on south side of path after about 250 metres. Cap missing. Views obscured by vegetation all around, although through the trees there are good views to north and south.

Having found the Wallingford FBM I took the PROW accross to the field and turned left on the raised PROW flanked on both sides by trees and a hedgerow. It was then just a short walk to the pillar which is generally in good condition but is missingthe centre cap for the spider. Views are prohibited by the hedging but the near y land is in any event very flat with no interesting view points.

On finding the trig, we saw that a previous visitor had left *their* hat on it, which we had to remove before taking our photos with our own headgear. Trig in excellent condition beside a pathway which runs down the middle of two hedge rows that separate two fields (and robbed us of any sort of view).

The usual aspect - taken from the floor Great views to both sides.... shame you can\'t see them!

First of three on the day selections from LR175. Parked at Cart Gap where the Ridgeway crosses the minor road. Pleasant evening walk to the trig.An awful lot of work with primitive tools to create that embankment. No pigs or blue tits.Did note that there was soil? down the centre of the trig, remains of the nest?

Popped along to check on the progress of the spitting trigpoint today and to get a better photo of it. Well, it's not spitting anymore, more like chirping (http://dontgohere.nu/gfx/caches/Fledglings_in_the_trig.mp3). Amazing how much the little great tit fledglings have grown as last time we checked they weren't even hatched!!!

We just had to write another note about this Trig Point! We were waiting by it for Andy to turn up, and as Ian lent against it a terrifying noise came up from the bowels of the TP!!!! Every time we tried to find out what was inside, this noise pooofed up scaring us away, so we spent quite a while wondering what it could be. A bat, a weasel, ferret, and then a snake came to mind and we were really cautious about looking over now. Eventually Andy turned up and he was also scared away when he heard the noise from within! Finally we managed to capture a photo that allowed us to see what was inside, and it was not what we expected in the least! So, if you are visiting this TP at the moment, be very afraid and careful of the blowing spitting blue tit nesting inside it! If you want to hear what noise was coming from the Trig Point, then go here: http://dontgohere.nu/gfx/caches/Strange_Noises_From_Within.mp3
