Fine stroll from Church Norton down by the seaside to find this rivet. Such a peaceful uplifting scene here today - just love the lifeboat station set on its own pier - and the gentle sea breeze was invigorating. All in contrast to those so frequent floodings we see on the news on this storm tossed beach-line most winters. Here's hoping for a flood-free season for the people of Selsey.

Onwards from Selsey trig, lovely walk down the coast, although a lot of the beach is where it oughtn't to be, on the prom, or in folk's gardens! Thence to the Lifeboat for cracking fish and chips.

Dirt track off Kingsway leads directly to steps and slipway. Selsey is my birth place, visiting to buy flowers for parents grave, lovely warm sunny day with keen breeze blowing in from the sea - lifts the heart. Lovely place to visit, awful place to live! Rivet is unobtrusive; even knowing its location, it still needs to be looked for.

Located on a flight of steps over the sea wall, as shown on the OS GPS website. In fact it would have been impossible to find without the OS diagram. Although TPUK and OS state that it is a rivet, it looks more like a bolt, and is flush with the concrete surface. Altogether, a rather uninteresting site. The nearby Selsey lifeboat station is a much better bet.

The spot where this one should be is on the sea defences near Selsey Lifeboat Station, there is a tarmac ramp leading to the beach which may now be covering the rivet. I will check the OS website to see if there is any more info to pinpoint it.
