Situated in a wooded area near junction. layby to pull in and park. Wooded area is not a large area but the trig took a little finding as it was totally covered in Ivy. Centre cap missing.Took as much off as I could before leaving

On the south side of the main road at the junction with the B1195. Trees and vegetation have grown up around it and lots of ivy and brambles cover the pillar and ground around it. Located behind an advertising banner. Good views to the west looking towards Lincoln which might possibly be just visible on a completely clear day. First of four of a planned walk today.

A quick stop by this one on a cycle ride through the Lincolnshire Wold. A bit of navigating the brambles and stinging nettles to reach the pillar!

First of four roadside trigs ticked off on a homeward drive from the east coast. Parked in the layby just off the main road and thrashed around in the little copse until I found it. Impossible to tell what sort of condition it's in, being covered in ivy and all. Presumably predates the trees that surround it.

On SE side of road junction in rough area of vegetation on W edge of small wood. Draped by hawthorn and disappearing under cloak of ivy.

It's definitely there but hiding under ivy, bramble and hawthorn. Easiest to access from B 1195 and going N as it's slightly less overgrown. worth continuing to visit (free) Bollingbroke castle ruins, built early 13th C, largely destroyed in civil war by Cromwell. 1643 Winceby Battle site nearby. Prime meridian passes through.

(182) Parked up at the layby, and found the pillar easily enough. Didn't really notice any damage during my visit, but will go with the flow on this one. Pillar history: Built on the 9th of February 1949, at a cost of £10 0s 6d. Last maintained by the OS in April of 1981.

Parked in layby gps playing up had a merry dance in and out of the little wood until we found the trig which is in vgc /plug.

Parked in a nearby layby, couldn't see the pillar so had to follow the gps, and there it was surrounded by brambles and briars! Some damage around the FB, but great view Westwards from here. Would be easy in the winter!

Second trig on way back to see non-existent sperm whale washed up on Skeggy beach, council had removed it the previous evening. Parked up in convenient lay by round the corner on the B1195, trig quite easy to find in triangle of bushes and trees at junction of A158 and B1195 at this time of year. Can imagine it's smothered by bramble in summer. Views W/SW.

Park in lay by and stroll up to the embankment. A well trodden path into the shrubby area leads to the pillar. Good views on a clear day inland.

Area is a little overgrown and a small Hawthorn is making a bit to tangle the pillar up. Slight damage at the base of the flush bracket which looks to be a little lopsided. No view today as the area is covered in thick fog.

A joint visit with Carole.W parked in the lay-by on the B road and just walked the few yards back to the pillar. Easy to see at this time of the year probably more difficulty in the leaf season. Pillar seemed in reasonably good condition and still retains an original plug.

Tyrolean Maid pulled off the road in a conveniently place lay-by just a few yards up the B1159. Apart from being very grubby, this pillar is in very good condition so I’m not sure why T:UK has it classified as ‘Slightly Damaged’. All it’s metalwork is in place and there are no chunks out of the top edges or corners. The pillar is set back into the scrub so the view west is the only one open.
