Parked in a layby on the A638 Great North Road and bagged this just up the road tucked in the hedge on the right hand side. We then completed a 4.5 mile circular route to bag Grove Kennels and Ordsall Hill

Layby for parking 100m south on A638. Trig on E side of road in hedge, but easy access today may be harder in summer. Grass verge ok to walk along. FB facing roadside and, yes the snail is still there! Able to get through to field side and inspect pillar fully. Actually in superb condition with what appears to be original metalwork and no observable scuffs. Marked up for snail and condition.

Parked up in layby on east side of road opposite big tree. Just over 100m walk along road towards Retford. Pillar is a bit difficult to spot, but fortunately I must have followed a fellow bagger as someone had flattened the long grass leading to it. Interest score increased due to snail on Flush Bracket (Although, I'm guessing this isn't a permanent feature, I just got lucky today)

On London Road on the way out of Retford. After the petrol station on the right towards the average speed cameras. The road gradually rises and a natural gap in the left hedge makes these easy to see. Must have driven past this so many times oblivious to its existence

(603) Located in a hedge on the busy A638 London Road, but a handy layby is to be found just south of the pillar. All appears good, and the pillar is readily visible. Pillar history: Built on the 23rd of October 1948, at a cost of £8 8s 10d. Last maintained by the OS in November of 1999.

In the hedge on the edge of a sugar-beet field on side of the main road. Assumed the fb faced the field and when I got there it didn't, so had to crawl into the hedge to get it. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. No paint. Sightholes all below vegetation level. No significant views from here.

I don't like trigs alongside busy A roads, but they all count. The FB faces the road, as HEATHENS state, but is deep in the hedge as the pillar is mostly the field side. I wonder what passing drivers thought as I bent down for the FB picture. GR to 10m only.
