In regards to the pillar, apart from a slight lean, all appears to be good. Pillar history: Built on the 7th of May 1939, at a cost of £3 19s 3d. Last maintained by the OS in July of 2000.

On visit to Hull with brother who had a business trip, and generously indulged me in my trig hunting. Trig is easy to find in the field, I carefully avoided stepping on newly growing crop. Trig in good condition, but base has eroded away a little. Met with a dog walker, with a wonderfully barmy friendly dog, who saw the pillars and didn't know what they were: she has a better idea now. Flattish landscape, could see tower of church NE, perhaps Cottingham.

I agree with mick&shane that the hardest part of this trig is driving across Hull and finding the location. The track to the south is not oficially a footpath but the fields were full of dog walkers. The field had stubble in it but interestingly had three or four grassy tracks to the trig from the path probably indicating where people had visited the trig after the seeds were sown earlier this year or late last year.

Feels strangely low but can pick out distant objects to the S the Humber Bridge, to the NW Skidby Mill, NE to Orchard Park and SE the Hospital. Brought back memories of early fumblings in this field ( Carol where are you now I wonder ? ) that was in the school summer holidays over 30 years ago - for some reason I was oblivious to the trig point at the time - happy days.
