Finally managed to bag this one - my final Leeds trig. From the A63 at Knowsthorpe ("Noss-trop"), I turned off into the now vast industrial estate and up past the Amazon depot. You can park (briefly, there are ANPR cameras about apparently) virtually at the trig site. I had a good look around via GPS and covered all the ground - the area has been thoroughly bulldozered and developed so no trace to be seen. Another I wish I'd got my skates on for (Barnbow is another recent loss close by), but worth the outing anyway. Nothing of any scenic value whatsoever.

The approach
This building isn't currently on any OS maps. It is just to the north of the trig symbol on 1:25k maps, oddly now 4+ years out of date.

Cycled by Halton Moor estate, bit rundown, and walked up path by some woodland. Got chatting to two blokes walking their dogs. Older one was born and brought up here but been away for a while, he couldn't believe the changes in such a short time. The younger one pointed out where the trig used to be, a huge section of groundwork behind a fence. He said he used to do his fitness training for boxing next to the trig. They asked what the trig was for and I duly explained, even shaking hands before parting.

Approached from Temple Newsam via the golf course and was surprised having looked at previous photos here to find the situation completely different. The horses have given way to horse power, there is hardly any grass, and the field is a racetrack for dirt bikes. It was a warm, dry day and there were clouds of dust as the bikes went round and round the field. The locals (or bandits?) were still friendly. I chatted to a couple of the bikers who thought the trig was possibly where somebody was buried years ago. I briefly explained what it was but I think they still regarded it as a bike rest. The damage on top was useful to rest your handlebars on. Not a place to spend your Sunday afternoons unless your a biker.

On returning to the car I was told by a resident that it is a common location for break-ins from the local pond life. Anyway, the trig is just off a footpath (track) bheind a pile of rubbish over a broken barbed wire fence. The top of the pillar is badly damaged although surprisingly the flush bracket still remains and three holes are open. Perhaps one of the worst locations I have been to in this game of bagging - give me the open moors any time.
