Early evening walk from Ashworth Moor Reservoir to bag my 75th Trig. Quite boggy in places but fairly easy to reach. The pillar is covered in bird shit and not looking it's finest (I wish I'd had some white paint to fill in the gaps :) A small cairn next to it and Great all round views. Continued west onto a path called Bury Old Road. Not as busy as the one that goes to Manchester lol

Last maintained by the OS in October 1979. SITE VISIT: Overall approach from south. Parked east side of Walmersey Old Road among other parked cars at SD809144, choosing not to wreck my suspension on the uneven cobbled surface. Walked this road northwards which continues as Bury Old Road to its end. Continued on the track ahead turning right at SD805164 which leads up steeply up hill. Direct route to summit across open moor, mapped as access land. Pillar in good condition. Spider centre plugged with asphalt. Flush bracket faces SSW, compass measurement 195°. Four sight holes open, innards filled with debris. Full 360° panoramic view.
