Second time of trying for this one after permission was refused at the camp site which suprised me as I asked to view it but the guy said no sorry. Passing today and attempted to get as close as possible through the woods, parked up and walked up the track which was just mud and realised I was on the wrong side of the fence. Wasted so much time and given the high winds I retreated and gave up, settled for a cairn in the woods instead!

Track just visible into woods but soon disappeared under recent felling of trees and disturbed vegetation. Picked a way through west to a dry stone wall boundary and followed wall until pillar spotted about 150 metres into field beyond. Cattle grazing in field. Awkward climb with barbed wires above wall. Kept cattle at a distance. Pillar damaged around top although spider is in place. Possibly poor quality cement. Slightly overlooked from farm to north. Views over fields.

On a seven trig forage & post Revidge my 550th trig, parked on the approach road to the caravan park & walked to reception to seek permission to access the trig. By all accounts the trig isn't on the land of the caravan park but could previously be accessed via the wall stile by pitch 39....Previously since the said stile is in a state of disrepair. Permission granted, I was taken to pitch 39 by a most friendly young chap & left to do my own thing. The trig was visible over the wall to the right & access across the wall would have been relatively easy had I chose to climb it.

He said they were no longer part of his land but he knew the owner and it wouldn't be a problem. I was a bit reticent at first as I didn't feel it was his permission to give. He appreciated my respect and eventually the desire to bag the trig got the better of me !! So, after a quick hop over one wall I meandered up the hill from field to field through open gates. Once trig came into view there was just one more low wall to cross (which landed me in snow up to my knees). As previously noted the top of the trig has sustained significant damage such that the spider is completely exposed and cap is missing. E and W sightholes open. Immediate vicinity uninspiring but distant views over towards Pilsbury warrant a 5/10.
