Parked near wide field entrance S of pillar. The field consisted of freshly churned mud which had miraculously (considering the wet weather recently) hardened into a concrete-like consistency. Remains of carrots scattered around. Pillar moved to field boundary wall. Original cap still present.

Short walk from our holiday cottage in Chirnside. We walked up the road to the wall on the right and followed field edge to the pillar.

There is a decent parking spot a couple of hundred yards south of the access gate. Simple if wet walk along the overgrown field margin (field growing turnips by the looks of it this year). Trig in pretty good condition seeing as its been manhandled from its original location. Great views to the west

A minutes walk from the roadside. Good views. I hadn't actually realised it had been moved until reading previous reports! It looks like it genuinely belongs in its new location!

Quick pillar located nicely on route for us between Spartleton and Lamberton Hill. Little bit of consolation for Cockburn Law road closure.

Pillar has been moved approx 90m to the NNE and now resides on S side of a field boundary, otherwise intact and in good condition. Original top cap is retained, deeply indented lettering; RHS sight hole open. Partial good views to the N, W & E.

As others have found this pillar now resides on the edge of the field having been moved from its original in field position. The pillar itself remains in good condition.

The trig has been moved north next to the wall away from the brow of the hill. Easy walk along wall line from road.

Took a slight detour on the way home from a bank holiday trip to the coast. Pillar seems very high, would have been difficult to use with a milking stool and T2 on the top.

The pillar has been moved. I didn't see the reservoir at all. The field was full of straw clamped carrots. Now slightly damaged, the pillar looks vertical, sitting oddly on, but not attached to, a plinth next to the wall repaired in 2007 according to a plaque, but already collapsed in places.

Second visit. For GPS reading and photographs. Pillar in good condition but with slight lean. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces 347°, NNW. Vented through west sight hole. The resr fence has gone.

First visit. To record FB number. History: Pillar completed 10th May 1951 costing £12.0s.9d. Computed as secondary triangulation station NT86/7 in the Berwick block during 1953. Levelled for height also in 1953. Last maintained by the OS in August 1982.
