Parked at the obvious spot on Drift Lane and headed up to the copse on top of the hill, through an excitable bunch of heifers. Found the pillar, with restricted views due to the trees planted around it and set off back. Just about to play the second leg with the heifers when I heard the unmistakable snorting of a black and white bull, that I hadn't seen on the way up. Having been badly mauled by a similar bull in the past, I gave the field a wide berth to get back to the road. Just a warning to anyone else making a beeline to the top.

A superb trig this, if a little unnervingly trespassy. We parked on Drift Lane at approx. SE 20582 70453 and walked through the bracken to a gate, crossed an empty field and over a flimsy wooden pallet gate to the wood. The pillar sits just inside the trees next to a large larsen trap. It is in good condition, with minor moss/vegetation. We returned the same way.

An awkward one to get to as it involves quite a long manouevre off the ROW. Parked on the minor road leading from Dallowgill Moor to Galphay and kept to the walls. The Trig is right on the edge of the wood the same side as the approach. In good condition with original plug featuring heavily indented lettering. There were two crows in the birdcage next to the trig. Nice views northwards once out of the wood.

Not the easiest one to reach or see. Need to wander on to private land and then cross some lowish barbed wire fencing to get into copse to find the pillar - the clue, of course, is the small bird enclosure. Anyway, once there the pillar is still there and in quite good condition and nicely tucked out of harms way. No real views from the pillar but once out in the open some lovely ones.
