Bent rod-style rivet in concrete block in rough long grass verge; took a while to locate. Measured it at 0.9m from wall (although not a reliable measurement as what remains of the wall is covered in long grass and can only be felt by probing the ground), 4m to road edge, 5.3m S from end of solid white line at road edge. Ted's description below was the most helpful.

(384) After bagging the nearby Pillar, it was then time to try to find this one. I'm not the best at finding buried trigs, but this one was relatively clear of soil/grass, so was found pretty much straight away. Rod bent, as others have noted.

Took a little while to find. Seems to align with the N end of the white line in centre of the road. Unusual for a rod to be a passive station and rather a long way from the FBM.

Gotcha! Brass rod marker in block. Not deep at all and vegetation low but still took a while to find. Easiest way currently is to find end of solid white line, measure 3.5 m along road then 4 m from road edge. OS measurements work OK but as others have said, not easy to find wall remains, especially the S corner for the most critical measurement. Dug out fairly thoroughly and left exposed so should be easy for a while.

Verge of very busy A15. Hasn't been logged found for six years so I didnít hold out much hope of finding this one and I wasnít disappointed! Luckily there was a pillar very nearby which lifted my spirits! I will return in a season more suited to the pursuit of bolts...

Lathama's work is still evident, but there aren't any useful nearby features to refer to help future visitors. Even the wall shown on the OS diagram is barely visible. GR to 10m only.

TP0365 Only a little scraping with the trowel was needed.
TP0365 The bolt is slightly bent.

This is my second visit here, the first, while logging the nearby pillar, proved fruitless. This time I returned with the OS link photo and my trusty long-handled trowel. Discovered it after some trial digs. For the benefit of future triggers, I have dug it all out so it is currently easy to spot. This caused some passing interest from the A15 traffic and also from a male yellowhammer in the shrub who was obviously hopeful for some worms.

Spent a while searching in the long grass and stinging nettles without any luck. The GPS would only provide a 25 foot accuracy, so wasn't much use. We will return another day with a metal detector.
