Parked on the grass verge by the church to the W of Alnham and followed good tracks all the way to the trig. Excellent view of the Cheviots. My final Northumberland National Park trig pillar.

Very pleasant 3 hour walk starting by the phone box at Alnham, south to Blackchester Hill TP, then followed ROWs via Scrainwood, Hazeltonrig and Alnham Tower up to Hart Law then on to Ewe Hill and Lumbsden Hill * before dropping down to Prendwick and back to the start via the minor road. *It would take very little effort at this point to add Old Fawdon Hill TP to the walk. Good views in all directions from trig on good grassy vantage point, marred only by the amount of sheep poo surrounding the TP!

Revisit. For photographs and GPS reading. Approached from south. Parked on southeast verge by telephone kiosk in Alnham at NT995108. Headed west along public road to NT990109 then NW up mapped RoW onto open access land where it picks up a track which leads to summit. Open grazing top on access land. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces due south, ~180. Vented through north sight hole. Near full 360 panoramic view, the small wood to the east breaks the skyline for a few degrees. Descended via Ewe Hill and Prendwick.

Walked up from Alnham tower, parked by the church. Lumps and bumps of the deserted medieval village in the fields opposite. Signs of ancient settlement on the grassy ridge leading to the trig... boundary banks and old enclosures on the side of the hill. Fantastic views on a very clear day across to Cheviot
