The Tremitt farm route is no longer an option as gates have been installed at not only the roads through the farm, but also on both side of the railway bridge. No getting over those. Access to the road running parallel to the railway is also now blocked by a large blocked gate. So, we took the footpath from the Berntsen. Just the survey bolt remains in concrete block. It looks like its a squashed version o the original polar bolt and it still has its raised nibble.

No pillar but there is a replacement Block in exactly the right place (SE edge of hardstanding). OS trig archive states <Replaced by surface block 03/84> with co-ords identical to the millimetre. Anyway as far as original pillar is concerned it is DM. Raining at the time with copious late-spring vegetation but the pillar itself could be lurking nearby.
