Parked on the main A635 in Thongsbridge where there is a convenient parking area on the direlict land opposite Bank Ln. Headed downhill towards Holmfirth taking the bridleway along Bramble Bank and across Miry Ln onto Mytholm Bridge. Having crossed the River Holme I continued through Hagg Wood into Brockholes. Followed the PROW through residential area steeply uphill and across the railway line to emerge onto Hall Ing Rd. Good views across to Castle Hill from here. East along the tarmac to Height Green then South across fields via the HVC walk to Thurstonland. You could probably park here for the short walk to the pillar which sits in a field just off the PROW below one of the two wind turbines.
