I've visited Gargrave and The Dalesman Cafe many times on my way to the Lake District etc. As much as we like the cafe, its closed on Mondays and so my wife decided to walk our Dog by the Riverside before waiting for me in The Masons Arms whilst I visited this trig. I followed the Pennine Way on to Mark House Lane (bridleway). At Crag Laithe there is a footpath to the right and the trig point can be easily seen on the high ground just off the footpath. It is in generally good condition and retains the original centre for the spider with good panoramic views. After the visit I returned to my wife in the pub where the staff were friendly and the food was very good.
