On a mound on farmland just off route, but easy to spot and reach, and was our second trig of the day on a 12.1 mile route from Draughton

Parked at Bolton Bridge then followed PROW passing through Haw Pike Farm & on to the summit. Views accross to the Yorkshire Dales with Bolton Abbey Train Station visible in the valley. The pillar is in generally good condition but the centre of the spider is missing.

Parking for about 5 cars at Bolton Bridge pre the Red Lion Farm track. Taking a left cross the road & 'head' for the roundabout. Cross the A59 & but a short way up take a left to cross the cattle grid by the Haw Farm sign...The route takes you upto, through & beyond the farm. Speaking to the farmer, all of 84, fulla life & a most pleasent chap, having no problem whatsoever with people accessing the trig he wished only that folk would close gates behind them!

Parked in lay by on A65 between Skipton Road and the Chelker Reservoir and took the footpath across the Bracken Ghyll golf course. Followed path through Highfield Farm and then more or less straight on to Haw Pike and the trig which was easy to spot and afforded good views of surrounding country. By Pete and Sylvia for HCU3A

Full day out to bag outstanding bit of the Dales Way. Started from Addingham & walked via the northern edge of Ilkley Moor to Ilkley where I picked up the Dales Way to Bolton Abbey and returned via Haw Pike and Bracken Ghyll Golf Club.

Fourth trig of 5 on drive-by/walk/run trig-bagging day - this was an out and back multiterrain run from the edge of Draughton - slight detours required between the FP and summit due to cattle. Great views.

From the church in Draughton followed Bridleway past Haynholme , crossed a couple of fences via stiles Southwards to trig which is situated atop a hill occupied by Sheep, the Trig is in Good Condition , painted White with 4 open Sight Holes , the Cap is open and the flush bracket faces ~215 Good 360 views inc Barden Moor and Ilkley.

I walked up on revisit from Skipton bus station after arriving on the 07.15 X43 from Barnoldswick,via the Dales High way/A65/Chelker Reservoir paths.On into Addingham for the 11.47 62 bus to Keighley 66 to Skipton X43 to Barnoldswick M1 to Earby,home for 14.00 all on a £4.20 KDay ticket another bargain trip out.

Parked in large layby on the A64 near Highfield House then took the row across the golf course to Highfield Farm then headed nnw along the path and entered the trig field at its southernmost point. Would imagine it's a good view on a clear day but mist spoiled that today.

Good private road from A65, initially skirting reservoir, to three houses. Pillar readily in view. As a courtesy asked at nearest house - OK. Nearby gate and up rough ground. Looked out to two immediately previously visited pillars. last of 6 ticks today.

I parked on the B6160 south of the roundabout below Bolton Bridge beside the River Wharf. Then used the footpath to go under the railway viaduct through the woods and over a stone stile into sheep pasture. Used one more footpath gate before going off piste via gates through fields to obvious summit and trig.

HISTORY: Pillar completed 22nd April 1949 costing £12.5s.2d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station SD96/T16 in 1951. Levelled for height in 1956. Last maintained by the OS in July 1986. SITE VISIT: Overall approach from east. Large parking area by east side of B6160 Bolton Road at SE070525. Followed RoW along south side of glen to SE066520 then near direct line to trig using unmapped route via gateways and small bridge. Grazing top. Pillar in good condition with a fairly recent coat of white paint. Spider centre capped with grey plastic disc fitted by Jon Rouse, 25/08/2002. Flush bracket faces SSW, ~211°. All four horizontal sighting holes open, innards blocked with debris. Full 360° panoramic view includes defunct windfarm.

Prominent white trig as seen from the Addingham-Skipton road. Fifteen minute walk up the ROW from the Yorkshire Water entrance to Chelker reservoir. Trig has been recently painted and in good condition with plastic plug. Good views.

Came up from Ilkley/Addingham passing the wind turbines. Pretty good view across to Beamsley Beacon. Visited the nearby Yorkshire Dales Railway at Bolton Abbey Station before returning via the Dales Way to Addingham. No cars,on foot!

We parked at the entrance to the reservoir and approached the trig by the public footpath across the fields. It's a lot easier to just follow the metalled track up the side of the reservoir which gives access to the farm and some converted holiday homes. The trig is at the top of a fairly steep bank with, I suspect, decent views when the mist is'nt down. Plastic plug.
