Good views from up here, but no sign of the trigpoint where it ought to be. Also checked the edge of the nearby woods just in case the pillar had been dumped there, but found nothing,

Probably the best view I have had from a Nottinghamshire TP. Clear sunny winters day with excellent views over Trent Valley.

Farmerised but not obvious why. Fragments of concrete embedded in track to S but nothing trig-shaped. Distant hazy views W, Trent valley power stations to E. Number taken from a previous visit on 17 April 1993.

Managed to get the car close to this location, but it wasn't an ideal place for a saloon car! Trig has gone :(

This was one we wished we had a 4x4 for as you could get right up to this as a drive by if you had one, sadly no pillar remains but a gate post that looks hopeful fools you from a way back into thinking it might be there.

No new news but the climb up from the village makes for a nice quick trip on the mountain bike and the views are better than most in the area

Parked in Hayton and walked along the bridleways which was very pleasant. Still marked on my Landranger but, like those before me, I could find no trace of it.

Nothing to add to previous comments, but I thought the walk up from the Chesterfield Canal was worth 2 marks. However, it looks as though 4WDs get up here too.

My GPS was indicating that it should have been at a boundary of two arable fields a little way off a footpath. A raised mound along the hedge line indicated where it probably used to stand. Hard to work out why it has disappeared as it was probably not offending anyone where it once stood.

No immediate sign of pillar, noted on Trigonomy site as possibly removed by farmer!

not found. Reported as present 1998. Farmer wanted to destroy it according to OS when I contacted them following my visit
