Rather trespassy this one. The pillar is in a horse field in fullview from farm, Luckily access to it is mostly out of sight, along hedge from footpath in south east. No people about anyway. Views to the Clee hills is quite good, but didnt hang around long enough

After a cooler than recenct days morning the temperature is now once again high. Had a late lunch in Muck Wenlock and a wander round town, church and abbey ruins. Didn't find anyone around at house or farm. Could easily see pillar across one empty field. Met farmer arriving on return - didn't seem bothered by my presence and expalanation.

accessed from path off minor road to east of westwood farm then followed hedge row up from the south. The field with the pillar was occupied by a horse and some sheep, but they were very accommodating. No sign of anyone from the farm, so no problems all round!

A skulking, nighttime visit, under the cover of darkness, which involved a certain amount of crawling around under the wrong hedge very close to the farm & barns. When I found the right field, the trig was an easy 'bag'.The views were extensive, but mostly of villages and the West Mids lit up by their streetlights.

Little has happened to this pillar in the last 4 and a half years! Approached from the footpath in the south after a leisurely stroll from Bourton village. No-one about in Westwood Farm so no problems with straying off the path. The white paint is fading a bit now but the pillar is still OK. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. All sightholes closed. Magnificent views south as far as Clent Hills and Frankley Beeches - if it hadn't been for the Rowley Hills I could have seen my house! North views to the quarry along Wenlock Edge. Lovely spot!!
