Decided to walk from Gore Hill over Telegraph Hill to this trig. Studying the map, I thought the walk looked to be a good one, and it was. Could see the pillar in the near distance as I strolled through a couple of green fields after coming down from Telegraph Hill. Pillar nicely situated on its prominent small hill. Has its cap & one s/h open. Just over an hour, there & back. Dorset was wonderful today in its Arctic coat!

Bit of a scramble up from road, saw the gate on the way down. Good views to the north and west from this small but prominent hill. Pillar in good condition. Being mid-winter bracken (and gorse) was not a problem mentioned by summer visitors.

Quite hard to find and reach. Hidden amongst waist-high bracken, nettles & brambles.Had to scramble up a bank from the road, over a broken fence and through overgrown bracken. Only 1 sight hole open.Good spider with clear lettering, and plug in place. Lovely view to NW only.

This looks straightforward on the map, not quite so, up a fairly steep bank, then over a broken barbed wire fence then about 50m through 4 foot bracken. Pillar good condition, nice spot worth the climb.

A lot of undergrowth to push through to get to this trig, but found it gave suprisingly good views east. Convenient car park / picnic spot near the Gore Hill trig. Walked up to this trig first, bagging Telegraph Hill, a HuMP, and the Gore Hill trig on the way back to the car.

Obviously when Glaslyn paid a visit someone had recently done some cutting & pruning. No such luck for me I had to find a path wading through waist high gorse , prickly weeds and long grass in order to get to the top of this steep mound. Once on top locating the Trig took a moment of scanning the vegetation. Once found all is in good condition with some nice views. Ordnance Survey website lists the computing year as 1950 and the height a/s/l as 201.783 metres (662.02 feet). P.S from here it's only 3 miles down the road (A352) to visit the rather faded but none the less impressive Cerne Abbas Giant.
