Parked opposite the entrance to Fron Farm in the dirt track lay-by...Sought permission to access the trig at the farm shop, the lady, Julia had absolutely no idea as to what it was I sought but nevertheless granted me permission to search for it...Take a right from the farm shop to walk straight on passing on your left signage for the beechs & a children's play area, Look out for a large slate block 'carrying' a plaque Y Dolydd (The Meadows) in front of a wooden fence to the side of a caravan & the trig is to its left. The trig is facing the shower block where the row of sinks are. Julia seemed fascinated by my trig point paraphernalia & vowed to go take a look & investigate further on the trig pointing/bagging websites. Fron Farms sixth generation farmer Dylan was 'doing hiis rounds' of the caravan park on his quad bike & provided us with much banter as to the trig points history... By all accounts it had been dug up & lay discarded for two years before being re-located at its present location. To contribute something back we did buy a coupl'a white Magnum's from the farm shop which was shut but which Dylan/Julia opened specially for us. Much thanx to Julia & Dylan, very pleasant people, who made our 'bagging' of Fron Farms trig more the memorable!

This pillar is located at Fron Farm campsite. Checked in at reception where a rather lovely lady granted permission to visit the pillar. Construction work going on around pillar itself so I did not linger. Challenged by a man on a quad as to what I was up to. After explanation there was no problem and he assured me that the pillar would be given a good spot once works were complete. Pillar itself has all fixings and is in good condition. Looks a nice campsite!

But I know where it has gone! This was one of my most surprising finds. I was staying at Fron Farm campsite and fell over the pillar in the middle of the site whilst walking to the loos! The pillar has been set in the ground as if original, which it clearly isn't as it has moved position to the grid reference approximated above. The flush bracket number matches so it is the same pillar. You can just make it out on the aerial photo though. http://www.multimap.com/maps/#map=53.20821,-3.21487|20|32&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:53.16785:-3.14242:14|mold|Mold,%20Clwyd,%20Wales,%20CH7%201 The pillar must have been set out as a feature for the campers because this is a really good and well maintained site. Unfortunately I didn't get to speak to the farmer to get the story during my short visit. I will visit again in the future though. Strictly speaking from OS survey terms this should be listed as destroyed, but this seems churlish from the trigpointing view. So lets call it "good"! Got to give it a 9 if just for for interest and white paint only!

Was OSMan jnr intercepts the walking trig pillar Following its walk to the south west of about 300m, Was OSMan and son accost the rambling pillar. Moel Famau in the background.
A short stop on the way to the loo block (in the background) Was OSMan bumps into the pillar en route to the loo. A pillar on the way to the loo?! it seems so.
The Flush Bracket The Flush Bracket confirms that this is the original pillar

A return visit as I now realise it has been moved about 120m Approached from North on Paths and searched, but found nothing. Met the helpful farmer and he said it was moved years ago and is no longer there. Having said that, there are logs from 2005 so maybe he just meant the original location. Will return with pictures as they do look familiar and it really may have gone.
