To get to this trig I walked up from the church in the village. The only sticking point in finding the way is a confusion of gates. The metal gate on the right goes into a field and is the wrong one. The metal gate on the left (near a bench) is the right one. There is also a "topograph" monument and the trig point is to the right of that and a short distance away. From the top there are spectular views down the mouth of the river Kent towards Arnside and Grange.

Excellent lunch at Levens Hall before walking (taxi fare on my back) to reach this little gem of a pillar at 123m. Sometimes the smallest of hills provide the most astonishing views, this was one of them. Lyth Valley is part of damson country and so I have to gift this pillar to damsons. However, what I want to know is where do they all go to once picked??? Haven't seen damsons for sale in donkey's years.
