Completed a circular walk from Channel Well via Spital Shield and picked up the trig along the way. Trig slightly overgrown but provided great views in all directions.

Drove up to what felt like the middle of nowhere to explore Hexhamshire, to give it's local name. Very peaceful; the only activity nearby was some farmers getting stuck into big baling. On the way back called into the Mill Inn at Dipton for a nice meal and quiz night.

My second visit, heavy rain and poor visibility. Looked back at previous photos - this is actually a really nice spot. Just not today. Having checked all my photos, both todays and those from 3 years ago, I can't see any damage to the pillar, 'Slight' or otherwise??

A second visit, just killing time while waiting for an appointment in Hexham. ~~ 13/07/17 Although it's just a roadside TP it (a) has pretty fantastic views, especially north, and (b) it is the starting point for a fabulous walk over the moor to neighbouring TP Gaterley Hill. Highly recommend combining these two for a tremendous couple of hours excursion!

SITE VISIT: Roadside job. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces north, ~358°. Vented through south sight hole.
