I cycled down Bournemouth Rd past Asda and then along Chestnet Av. that had road works on it. Then up Stony Croft Rise. But dont let these names fool you. It a rather rubbish industrial estate that ends in a carpark for a skate park. Parked bike on railings and walked around dirt track for BMX. through gate and there is the sad trig looking sorry for its self. Rubbish site, no views. All rather depressing for penultimate trig of the day.

Parked in skateboard carpark - nice looking facility for the kids... but no kids! Access to pillar looked straight forward but found high, single-width kissing gate wired shut - pillar could be viewed from here but not accesed as gate awkward to climb over. Found vehicle access - a pair of gates, much easier to negotiate, but then realized wire was missing from lower half of one of them! Short walk then through nature reserve area. Pillar found looking a little sad with dirty, flaking white paint job; cap missing, asphalt plug; rear sight hole open. In woodland, no views.

Stop off en route home from Chilling. Very easy access from bike centre car park (although judging by the large gate I suspect this is locked overnight, and has a height restriction on entry so - weirdly, given the function of the place - don't go with your bikes on your roof!). Some way off highest point of hill and no immediate views, although those from the edge of the wood are far ranging to the north. S s/hole open, N buried, asphalt cap, otherwise vgc.

Access is actually quite easy if you know the best way to attack it. Dont bother with the approach from the west through the wood (as I did and made hard work for myself). Just follow the directions from the section of map Ive uploaded. At the roundabout a blue sign indicates the location of a skateboard/bmx park (odd site!). Follow the road, which turns to track uphill to pass the skateboard park and reach a tall metal gate in a the fence. Through the gate & the trig is immediately sat on the right between the fence and the wood. NCOF, dont know if you can park on the road to the skateboard park but the nearby B&Q/ASDA would be an option, youd have to use the things on the bottom posterior to walk about 1/2 a mile though (uphill for a bit as well - strewth!!!!)

I was going to look for this a little while ago but there were lots of signs saying private land, go away, etc. Not being one to cause any trouble, I kept my distance. But on my way to work the other day I noticed that you can actually see it from the M3. You need to be going southbound on the right-hand branch, and obviously be careful if you're driving! Not sure if this really counts as a 'visit' but I can see it and that's good enough for me :-)

No idea when I attempted to find this trig but it must have been sometime in 1997. I distinctly remember wandering forlornly around the woods. It must have been completely overgrown - my notes mention the motorcyclists.
