A request to the householder to allow a visit and photo session to his trig pillar was very kindly granted. It really was nice to see such a well maintained and cared for pillar. There would have been no chance of even viewing from the adjacent field so my expression of gratitude was genuine. Although I am not sure that my suggestion that having a trig pillar in ones garden puts several thousand pounds onto the value of the property!
