Nipped out for a quick local bag. Parked up in Newton Reigny and took the road out to the north past The Sun Inn. Followed the road along to Honey House and passed through the field gate opposite. Kept to the field edge, which wasn't as bad as I'd expected after so much wet weather, around to the pillar. Pleasant views all around. Looked at the OS for any local FP's but nothing doing so simply retraced our steps back to the car passing again past the impressive Catterlen Hall.

Parked opposite Honey House over the gate and followed the field boundary to the trig pillar. The trig is situated on the field boundary and is in good condition. As a bonus there is a nice CM on Honey House just below the house name sign.

Spent a glorious day at Talkin Tarn doing a parkrun (new this year) and orienteering. "Mopped" this one up on my return journey, it was 5 mins off jct 41 on the M6. Pretty bland pillar, but good views over towards the Northern Pennines. CBM on Honey House worth a mention, recently repointed N wall and CBM included. I have to give this one to Grangers Fabsil Gold, best tent proofing product on the market. Once the heating is turned up I will be ready for an adventure.

Sat in car Saturday late afternoon due half an hour waiting for rain to stop. It didn't. So abandoned and came back lunchtime Sunday. North side of fence. FB facing north too

Same route as previous visitor. You have to pass in front of the windows in the house just through the gate so I'm not sure this is any more clandestine than the Honey House approach.

I walked from home, can access field from gate at Grid NY 478 326, up behind house to gate of field containing Trig, more clandestine than across road from Honey House.

Parked by Honey Ho. and over the gate with wellies on after boggy warnings and just as well. Left it a bit late in the day with the gathering gloom and storm clouds hiding the view towards the Lakes with only High Pike on show.. Of more interest was Catterlen Hall just to the south

A storm prevented us from walking on the fells, so we embarked on a round of trig-bagging from Greystoke. Parked in the lane, quickly over the gate and follow the fence line up a (very) boggy field to the pillar. Trig in good condition, but not a very inspiring spot sadly.

Short walk across a cut silage field from field gate opp Honey House (cut benchmark). Pillar sits on NNW side of wire stock fencing and hard against it with FB facing NNW into the field. Top cap missing, no plug; rear sight hole open. Good views S, E & W; N mainly obscured by tree line on far side of field.

Left Southampton at 04.37 to drive up to Scotland. A superb drive with the motorways all to myself, musically accompanied by Bach's Christmas Oratorio for a couple of hours: delightfully stress-free driving. Following breakfast at Lancaster Services, visited this trig at High Dykes. Parked by gateway opposite Honey House (as others have recommended) and splashed my way across an exceptionally muddy field to pillar no s6995 for an easy 'get', then back up the empty M6. Fine all round views, this was a good start for Trigging 2013!
