Parked on Whin Lane and followed the Yorkshire Wolds Way to this one. We passed the High Hunsley Beacon. Easy to find in a hedgerow. It’s a well weathered trig with spider and FB still in tact. This was our second of 7 today

Gate open so made short drive up track, then followed field boundry to pillar. Trig in good condition with all its metal work, slightly hidden in bushes and brambles.

Day 1 of Yorkshire Wolds Way trek

I parked up near the gated entrance to the bridleway to the west of the pillar, on the B1230. There's enough room to get your car off the (very busy) road safely. I went through the unusual gate, up the track and then off the ROW via a rough track through a copse, turned left and then just followed the hedgerow to the pillar. There's no danger at all of damaging any crops - there are wide tracks/scrub strips on both sides of the hedge and the pillar has gaps either side of it so you can pass through easily. The flush bracket faces south-east. The pillar has a full set of metalwork but is heavily weathered with lichen and some light spalling to the top. A brief trespass, but very easy and unobtrusive access.

I was passing this one going to & from an address in Hull... Parked near the mast and followed the busy road to the PROW. This leads to the hedgerow that contains the pillar. Easily visible this time of year. Over time the land has been raised to the base of the flush bracket. The pillar is in generally good condition and retains the original spider. No views to speak of, just flat farmland.

Very busy road. Followed Wolds Way Walk SE from the road until the field boundary on the right. Fifty yards'ish from the path. Heavily overgrown with nettles.

(682) Minor hairline cracks around the top of the pillar, but nothing major. And now that everything is greening up, this trig is starting to become engulfed. Nettles above the FB area already. Pillar history: Built on the 5th of March 1951, at a cost of £15 3s 9d. Last maintained by the OS in February of 1988.

Parked near mast,then along road for 75 yards or so to opening into first field.Followed hedge west to next massive field to inspect tump-top could be anywhere.Then visited trig.

This road is dangerous for parking loads of speeding motorists.Trig is just off the wolds way and is well defended by bushes not much of a view Joint visit with EB

Nipped over the barbed wire fence and paid a quick visit to the pillar which was in good condition with its plug still in place. Could be a problem locating when the hedgerow is in full flower later in the year.

Awkward to get to - mind the barbed wire fence that effectively prevents access - I didn't see it and ended up getting cut which bled for a bit - luckily I didn't feel it or notice it until I'd finished my walk. Found whilst geocaching in the area...

Accessed over (low) barbed wire from Yorkshire Wolds Way footpath to the E. Wasn't sure which side of the hedgerow to walk down, but it doesn't really matter. Vegetation growing, had to do some gardening to get to the flush bracket.

Was intending to park in the layby to the N and follow the Wolds Way to the pillar but passed it before realising. Parked instead at the entrance to the track to the W of the trig. Followed the track to the small wood then went round the field boundary. No fences to hop on this approach.

Approached from Wolds Way to E. From the wooden acorn marker the barbed wire fence is easy to stride over. No one about so nipped down hedgeline to trig about 100 yards on high point of field. Pillar in good condition, with OS plug intact. Had to trample down nettles to view FB. Someone round here must be making a fortune in supplying private signs, but its a simple little trespass. You could access this from the path to the SW without climbing any fences. Got a bit lost in the woods near Drewton manor returning to South Cave, but mission accomplished Mr Drewton Sir.

Nice to have the private sign showing where to get over the wire. It may be possible to park in the gap at the footpath sign on the busy road but there is good parking at the minor road crossroads to the north SE941353.

as described by other logs,this is on the york wolds way,after approx 200yards from the main road the private signs are there along with the wooden acorn post,a quick hop over the low barbed wire.there was a tractor in the field on the fb side so i simply approached the trig from the righthand side of the hedge,unseen.the trig is approx 150yards away,looking quite sunken!i had to sneak through the gap to obtain the fb number,then a quick retreat,no probs

In fact I meant to visit a different trig point but put the wrong coords into the Sat Nav. I ended up parking about 1km away to the east past the mast in a lay by on the side road and then walking back up the busy road on the verge. I too hopped over the conveniently low barbed wire fence.

Walked up footpath from road. When you get to the acorn footpath sign hop over an easy fence next to the Private sign. Trig in the hedge straight ahead. Slightly trespassy but who's counting.

Access from the yorkshire wolds way, hop over the fence at the acorn mile marker, indicating 15 mile to hessle and 64 to filey. The Drewton estate is not walker friendly with keep out signs placed around its boundaries. Pillar some 200m away hidden in hedge. A very large GPS error!

Came at this along the Wolds Way from the Beacon. Ducked through the barbed wire fence at the Private No Admitance Drewton Estate sign and walked along the south side of the hedge line to the pillar. Now well and truely part of the hedge but it is still there and in good condition.

A short distance off the Wolds Way, The barbed wire fence and keep out sign directly at the point where you have to leave the public footpath to get to it may indicate that the landowner is fed up with people visiting this trig point, oh dear! Lol.
