Followed the OS Pathfinder Guide for the walk to High Pike and back via Carrock Fell. Fairly easy gradual ascent up to the summit of High Pike with the pillar and a welcome bench. Sadly some scrote has nabbed the toposcope! Also sad to see wild campers with dogs off leads in the sheep pastures and a jerk on an electric bike riding all over the fell. Still, views were great but tempered a little by the early September heat haze. Route then took us over Carrock |fell and down it's rather unpleasant east face. Mill Inn was closed on Mondays so had to make do with a pint at The Boot & Shoe in Graystoke.

Day 13 of 14: Dunbar to Keswick walk. Up from Caldbeck camp and finally the Lakeland mountains rise directly ahead. A straightforward ascent from Nether Row, just keep going up. Windy and rather too cold for sitting at the bench up top. Stone pillar giving massive views possibly the best view of the Solway Firth I have ever had. Onto Threlkeld via Lingy Hut and Skiddaw House, a beautiful day to celebrate the fact that it is quite possible to walk from Dunbar to Keswick on foot and camp all the way.
