I CAME, I SAW, I CONQUERED. There's a tree next to the fence (behind the huts) which is easy to climb then jump over (I'm 19 stone and I managed it). It's a disgrace that this site is locked away, monuments are there to be viewed. See pics have a look albeit in the dark.

Six trigs bagged with Trudge Tracey, making our way home from The Wirral. This was the fifth. Parked on roadside for short walk along PROW crossing the golf course. The pillar is unreachable and only partly visible due to the security measures at the reservoir. I have accepted the records on this database as accurate.

My second negative review, the first back in January with reference to Knowsley Hall in Liverpool. Decided on a trig 'remnants' day...High Warren aware of its inaccessibility, Rixton Moss aware of a moved pillar with what appeaes to be it upside down alongside some conifers by Prospect Farm & scant floor remains of a trigs existence nearby Bates Farm Risley. Parking across the road from Warrington Golf Course, crossing the road & walking thro' the car park I accessed the back of the reservoir to see the trig & monument & to my joy, continuing about the perimeter of the enclosure, came across a young lad on the other side of the fence. Explaining the situation us 'trig baggers' are faced with, whilst sounding sympathetic he was a real 'jobsworth' in granting me no access...What harm would there have been in unlocking the gate & accompanying me to the trig point for a quick touch & photograph. Alas I had to be content with a distant view, the flush bracket whilst visible thro' binos was hidden bottom half consequence of the curvature of the hill. This world we live in gets more & more uncharitable day by day. Whatever happened to 'the good old days' when people were nice & favours done just because & without personal gain?...EXTREMELY POOR & re-affirmative of my somewhat negative opinions as to the youth of today!

Surrounded by a high fence. Was still able to photograph the pillar and monument from a distance. Disgusting behaviour by the landowner. They could have fenced off what they needed to, without barring access to the pillar and the monument. After all, the monument is a public monument and deserves to be seen.

Infuriating to find High Warren reservoir trig, Appleton Park tump, on middle of the Warrington golf club surrounded by fencing, but, but, but...... On the south side, in a bit of woodland there were some cut logs.... Where there's a will.... A bit risky as they might fall over and leave me stranded. But hey life's full of risks.... Harrah....success and one that's part of the Alan Dawson trig walk of life s2732

Approached via public footpath to N then skirted clockwise round the reservoir compound looking for the pillar which was eventually sighted from the W.

On my way to Liverpool. Called in pro's shop as a courtesy - wasn't encouraged to visit, but not barred. Up access road to upper car park and reservoir, then clockwise round security fence perimeter. care on far side by fairway, but pillar readily visible. Pity you can't reach top to fully enjoy views which would be extensive.

I've been wanting to come and find this Pillar and the monument nearby for a while, but never had the opportunity - so decided to give it a go this cold and frosty morning before any golfers were around. Walking up to the reservoir however, I discovered the new fence, and only a locked gated entrance. After a walk round the perimeter I decided to give up, when at that moment a van arrived, and the gate was unlocked. I realised this would be my moment, so went through,and asked permission to go up tot he top, which the nice gentlemen were only too happy to agree to, so up I went. Wonderful view even at this time, such a bizarre spot for a pillar though!

Third time lucky - beaten off twice by angry groundsmen so a very early morning raid this time.No problems at this hour but fence seems much improved from previous logs.I could onlyget access at rear of compound by climbing the 7ft fence via a gate which offered a foothold

Visited during walk from boat on canal at Moore to Warrington Bank Quay station. Most of golfers were already in clubhouse for Sunday lunchtime. Good views to Clwydian Hills & Fiddlers Ferry power station.

Bagged on way home from fishing parked next to footpath enterence on grass verge,follow path across links golf course then a tarmac path turns left towards res acsess easy fence has many gaps.trig in exellent condition with original plug exellent views here even a monument with lions.

Climbed wrong reservoir first which didn't help as had done 22 mile race in the morning. Lots of golfers, but fortunately I was ignored. interesting misty views.

Used the RoW to access the trig. Climbed up on top of the wrong reservoir to begin with. Went to the trig point and then went to the wonderful nearby monument that I found it impossible to find out ant informaiton about Google. Walked back via the clubhouse.

Easy access off ROW At top of hill on Res Told by golfers we were off the path Told them we were playing here next week and had come to look at there wonderful course at which they agreed and said carry on ( will use this again )

Good views. Interesting Victorian Looking monument. Close enough to the entrance of the Golf Club to walk in and out quickly. Simple gate to climb over.

Parked opposite the golf club as they had a few people in chasing white things and dragging heavy bags. Reservoir has a new keep out notice due to a transmitter but the gate is an easy hop. nice monument as well but didn't hang around to investigate as I was too visible on the top.

On top of a reservoir in a golf course. Not too heavily defended, got in crawling between the railings, only to find that the pillar was not in the same place as shown on the 1:25000 map, and that there was a simple gate out. A very ornate monument is nearby.
