A revisit to my local Trig. As noted in December, the Devon bank has been heavily cut-back, leaving the pillar much more open. However, there is now a new fence on both sides, topped with barbed wire. Making contact with the pillar would therefore be quite difficult. The FB cannot be seen at present, covered by disturbed parts of the bank.

Decided to spend some time bramble-bashing on my local trig. It had been almost completely buried, but a bit of cutting-back has revealed the West face, and it is now possible to climb up to inspect the metal spider, which is in good condition. The flush bracket is still hidden, on the East face: I will have to go back, to finish the job!

Bagged towards the end of a coastal walk from Woolacombe back to our holiday accommodation in Ilfracombe. A short detour from the coastal path along the bridalway then up the field boundary. Needed to jump a gate as it was on the other side of the hedge. The boy child refused to walk the final few hundred meters, so he waited without bags. Dont blame him as it was hot and the long grass up the hill was a real trudge. Have logged this as inaccessible due to being swallowed by the hedge. Itchy.

We parked at Lincombe and took the footpath from there. When you get to it follow the footpath that runs east to west on which there is a gate giving access to the field with the trig. Sheep pasture unoccupied at the time. The bank the trig is sitting on is quite eroded so it could possibly topple at some time in the future. The FB was buried and took a bit of digging out.
