As did previous contributors, I used the Lake Lane layby and took the short walk to the right along the road. Over the 3 gates and easily found the pillar nestled in the hedge (it's actually not on private land but to approach from the road would be risky as it's a busy one).

Six trigs bagged with Trudge Tracey, making our way home from The Wirral. This was the last. Parked in the lay-by on Lake Lane for the short walk to the pillar. This included climbing three gates. The pillar was largely overgrown but Trudge cleared out the front and top. It appears to be in generally good condition and retains the original centre for the spider.

Lay-by parking on Lake Lane...Turned right, crossed the road, climbed a gate, proceeded right to climb two further gates in close proximity to each other & the first & caught a glimpse of trig at floor level amidst the undergrowth a coupl'a inches to the left of a fence post. The trig was pretty much engorged in foliage, the spider completely. The flush bracket was visible field-side. Not something I usually do, but did manage to stand on top of the trig which seemed the next best thing to walking around it which was an impossibility. There was no evidence of the presence of a trig from the road so walking field-side is the way to go to 'bag' this one!

Is another hedge pillar covered in foliage which now almost covers the entire pillar. It's likely that this pillar will soon no longer be visible. There is a wire fence in front of the pillar, so it is not even possible to clear away the foliage. Permission granted, but warned it was very overgrown. Walked along Northwich road to the first gate, over, and off across two fields to site. Once there, as the gentleman said, It was very overgrown. We couldn't see the pillar, so based on our GPSr arrow, we created a path through the undergrowth to access it. Pleased to report it was bang on. There it was standing proud, we gave it a little hair cut and found the spider to be in excellent condition. The flush bracket is flush with the ground and in OK condition.
