All intact. Friendly farmer allowed us to park in his yard. We comments on soggy weather and boggy fields - he hopes for more rain to raise water table as all the boreholes are running dry locally.

Nice cycle running parallel to the Malverns. Its interesting to see the sun rise over it as I am nearly always on the other side. Trig its self is on the west side of a hedge.

Had a chat with farmer. Remembers about 10 years ago some OS staff visited and set pegs out? Anyway we talked about his farm being on the very top of the hill (1m higher than pillar). He thought that whoever built it must of been mad.

Parked by the church in Bosbury, which has a detatched tower, built circa 1235 & stands at a spot height of 67m. Walked north along lanes & RoW, including the Hfds Trail, with the company of the River Leadon for much of the time. Then up & through woodland on Beacon Hill to the farm.Just missed the farmer on his tractor.Pillar in sheep field just off FP.One of the best hedgerow trigs that i have so far bagged. Warm sunny day but views limited by haze. Thats all the Ledbury trigs done, bar 1

Hill Farm 167m, an ascent of only 100m for this walk but felt higher!

Decided to go straight to the farm and ask for access so met the dogs! Also met a very aged farmer who remembered the OS coming to erect the pillar when he was very young, so we had a very interesting conversation - another lovely person to meet! The pillar is in a hedgerow, overlooking a hay field which was being mown today. Original plug with deeply-indented letters. Very little paint visible. All sightholes open. The top is very overgrown with hawthorn so needs to be gently lifted to access the plug. Concrete base exposed about 2" all round. Lovely views S and E.
