Log #97. Simple track-side trig, which has had a fairly recent coat of paint. The cap is missing, and has been plugged. Not much else to say, other than a good view to the south. [ExP-90/MiP-0/BM-7]

Seems an odd place for a Trig pillar - no view to the north and nothing obvious to the south except the hill point on the Rothes ridge where there is another Trig pillar. Nice spot none the less with nice views and the first Trig pillar I have ever driven my car up to, though with care as the farm track is heavily potholed.

A drive up, trackside with an easy to read FB. Good condition with view north over Elgin to Brown Muir. Disturbing time here due to having been followed by a motor bike all the way from the Quarrywood pair. Even along the dust track to nowhere hosting the trig. Follower passed me while logging, turned and drove back out. Weird! Mind he must have thought I was strange!

Visited to record FB number. The pillar was completed around October 1952 costing 16.17s.9d. In 1953, this marker was computed for triangulation as tertiary station NJ45/T24 in the Elgin secondary block. The flush bracket was levelled for height also in 1953. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in May 1987. My first ever NJ pillar. North side of track. A Monday night stroll in the dark while in Elgin on business.
