Parked beside the farm on the minor road Talked to the farmer who was in the field who told me yes but to beware of the bull, Had a blether with him when i got back

Parking and route as many other people. No livestock today, though the fresh evidence around the trig means they must be somewhere in the field.

Left some of the others rumbling around Wick for a while as I nipped out to remind myself what a trig looks like. Disappointing lack of cows in the vicinity ;-)

As per previous log. Trig can be seen from the minor road. Followed the fenced track and negotiated the gate at the end. Field was full of cows who ignored me. Path is has quiet long grass so I was pretty soaked by the time I got back to the car.

My nearest trig to which I cycled. Cows in the field seemed glad to see me!

P160. Parked at gate and walked up grass track. Glad to see the cows in the opposite field. Soaked up to my thighs as I had just missed the hail storm that soaked the high grass but I then got caught in the rain storm on the way back.

Log #16. Cows flocked over when I approached, looked to be some fairly young ones in the field so I settled for a photo to avoid disturbing them. [ExP-16/MiP-0/BM-0]

HISTORY: Pillar completed 26th September 1946 costing £7.17s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station ND25/T23 in 1952. Levelled for height in 1954. last maintained by the OS in June 1981. SITE VISIT: Approached from southeast. Parked NW side of road just east of gates by bend at ND343502. Straight forward route NW along track into trig field. Locoated near SE edge of grazing field. Convinced this was built as southwest end of a base line, that was never to be. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains original OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces northwest, ~304°. Vented through SE sght hole. Full 360° open outlook.

Walked in along grassy track from the minor road. Easy parking and easy access. Only problem were the bullocks in the field - very nosey and boisterous, if there had been more than just the three I wouldn't have risked it. Pillar is in good condition, plug is intact, solid concrete plinth.
