I made an evening visit to this trigpoint today. A short walk having parked in the estate nearby, avoided the passageway and came in via the big open entrance to the field. Quite easy to access the trigpoint at the moment.

Bit of a dodgy one this one to visit! Parked up in the nearby housing estate and followed the path into the local park and headed across the field phone in hand towards where the trig should have been. Noticed two rather dubious characters loitering around, one each end of a passageway into the park - definitely the local dealers waiting on business. Chose to ignore them and headed towards the Trig. Eventually found it hidden behind some brambles and grabbed a quick photo or two, tuned round to see one of the dealers had followed us to keep an eye on us - laughingly he was just wandering trying to look innocent whilst smoking his dodgy wares! It was a short walk along the PROW to the pillar albeit I couldn't see it until I was almost alongside it because it was amongst a few trees and next to a fence separating it from a bungalow. The pillar is in generally good condition but a large section of the foundation is exposed on the side nearest to the fence. It retains the original spider and centre. It has views towards the M1.

Parked in Poucher street went up snicket at the side of the top left hand side bungelow, turn left after the bungelow and the trig is at the opposite end of the fence under a tree. Can be a bit of a struggle to get to depending on what time of the year you go. Trig in great condition with all its metal work

Half hour walk from Meadowhall interchange tram stop - all uphill however! Followed the footpath sign towards trig from main road - so much rubbish dumped, needs a community cleanup. Trig spotted easily enough but difficult to get to - under the trees past yet more debris.

It's in there.

(1323) Like others, I parked at the bottom of Poucher Street, and from there it was a short walk to the pillar. Area not too overgrown, so quickly spotted, though a load of brash has been dumped close by, so it took some manoeuvring to get close. Still largely sporting it's white coat of paint. All good. Pillar history: OS records incomplete. Last maintenance date only given as within a year of 1985.

I walked up from Meadowhall Interchange after arriving on a 2 train journey from Skipton.A grey wet walk that brightened up on reaching the pillar,which I couldn't see until right on top of it.

Lets stop off at a quick one she said on the way from Templeborough trig.... Quick was the understatement of the year! Tricky. If the path on the map run the direction is said it did it would still be hard to spot in the dark and covered in brambles. A local pointed me the n right direction (after asking a neighbour and coming back to find me, who had been searching for 30 minutes in the dark! haha. A fun day between this one in the dark and Templeborough that has a story itself) no views as such but fun day made up for it.

Easily found on the edge of a public green space tight up against a house boundary on my way north up the M1. Views now limited to the north-west, pillar in good condition protected by vegetation.

Had a bit of a nightmare with this one. Parked on Little Common Lane beside school / adjacent to the entrance of a play area. For some reason I struggled to reconcile what I could see on the ground with what was on my map. So, I headed SE across the common following the perimeter of the school then behind the houses until I reached Poucher St. Then I knew I'd missed it so back the way I came only to find it staring me in the face !! This one sits tight up against someone's fence amongst the bushes on the NE corner of the housing estate. Would probably be easier to spot in the winter months. In good order with original cap and raised lettering. Paintwork starting to look a little tatty. FB faces SE. Views are very limited due to houses and vegetation. I then headed N to Green Lane and down to Droppingwell Rd for a thoroughly confusing amble through Barber Wood. Eventually stumbled across the TPT and followed this across the golf course before taking the PROW that drops down beside the driving range to Millmoor Juniors FC. After a short walk S along Droppingwell Rd I took Dukes Lane back across the common to Little Common Lane. Just one of those days today - only when at the trigpoint and and the clubhouse of Park Grange Golf Club did I truly know where I was !!

I had noticed that there were plenty of pillars close to the roads North of Sheffield sometime ago, so I decided it was about time to tackle them. Awake early, so didn't need the alarm, and in Sheffield by rail on a Derbyshire Wayfarer ticket by 8.20. Clear skies and brilliant sunshine had given way to heavy cloud as I headed North. Once out of the confusion of main roads in the city centre progress got better. Low gears engaged for the first time in the day on the ascent to Hill Top. Soon located pillar by garden fence behind bush from public access area.

Sixth and final one of the day on a 15+ miler. Tough clog up West Hill after the previous five. Access from Poucher Street a doddle (thanks ocean soul). Hidden in the far right hand corner of the field with vegetation begining to hide it. Sits quite high. Flush bracket faces east. Decent views W & NW. NCOF!

Easy access; trig in good condition; located in corner of field behind houses. Plug with raised lettering. Views now somewhat limited by housing and spoil heaps but to the north, Keppel's Column (a 'phantom trig' on older maps) is visible.

Almost white pillar amongst bushes and long grass. Cannot help wondering if it will last long here!
