Parked on A809 in layby 300m south of Clubhouse. Can avoid most fairways by heading south and around 1st green then head up hill to the east. Politely greeted golfers and didn't have to give the right to access spiel once.

Having struggled cross country from the south to avoid the golf course, I rejoined the West Highland by going straight down and fording the stream - it was much easier!

Very good condition pillar on top of a nice high point at the edge of Hilton Golf Club. Spider intact, but no cap or plug. FB faces north-ish with east sighthole open only. Good views, especially to the north. Decent views to Glasgow, but not as good as South Mains. Asked at pro shop if access OK. No problems.
