Trig is situated a short distance from the road, behind a barbed wire fence, on MOD land, just about visible from the roadside. Completely engulfed, so it would be unreachable, even if you did climb over the barbed wire fence.

Approx 15m SE side road on Lulworth Ranges. B/w fence and gorse to be negotiated, also a lot of military personnel a short distance E - like 50m away; stealth mode was empolyed and I conducted my trigging business undetected. Pillar buried to base of FB on that side, a lttle digging away necessary to reveal all of it. Cap missing, no plug; rear sight hole open, L and R closed, unable to determine state of the front one. Wet miserable weather, didn't note if any views were offered.

Stopped on the road to the Lulworth Ranges, you can see the pillar, but can't reach it without, a) climbing over well maintained triple barbed wire fence and thrashing through thick gorse, or b) trespassing on a military road with keep out signs and much military activity.

Drive by #1 en route from Dorset to Cornwall. Military personnel at nearby buildings (despite this being a bank holiday), four strands of barbed wire and a flip flops / gorse combo rather discouraged access so viewed from roadside - top still just visible above the gorse.

This afternoon they were in the middle of tank firing practice and so this had to be a very furtive grab over the barbed wire. The flush bracket is partially buried in the undergrowth and the sightholes are not visible. The plug is missing. The white paint is still there but faded. Saw an army land rover approaching over the next brow and so got out as quickly as I could!!

Normally Id hop over a fence to get to a trig just 5m from the road, but this was military ground. Id also been telling Rob all day how to behave in this area, so I had to follow the same rules. So just took pictures from the roadside.

Anyway, on my way back to the car (parked on the verge opposite) an oldish lady stopped and proceeded to tell me off like a schoolboy for going over the fence !! She was worried I may have been blown up ! (She should have been more worried about us both getting killed on the busy main road she had just stopped on !!!!)

Although this was a bit of a lazy bag we could hardly not get this trig as it was sitting at the side of the road as we were driving home (followed by a few others likewise..!). This trig was located in the bushes in between the road and the edge of some MOD tank training land. Craig took the legal road approach while I hopped a fence and tresspassed on militery private land (ooo errr), both eventually meeting at the same point by the trig. The trig was getting a bit worse for wear with moss etc. growing over it.
