Up from Breakwater CP (machine not working - saved £5!) via North Stack with Twiggy. Zero visibility on top (one point docked) and very blowy but very mild so still shorts and T shirt (although many others seemed dressed for the Arctic). Had trouble getting off the top in the cloud - two paths just seemed to lead to sheer drops. Back via South Stack.

Was heading for Breakwater country park but cocked up navigation and went to RSPB South Stack instead. NB CP is £5 if not a RSPB member but if you drive to very end of road passed visitor centre there are a number of spaces and pull-ins on road side. Coast path then summit track. What a view SE. All the groups in northern Snowdonia spread across the horizon from Bardsey in south to north end of Carneddau. Took direct route back with scary descent off summit.

Spider top intact and flush bracket faces east. A labyrinth of routes that return to car park. Worth spending time exploring the brick works and kilns.

Camped in a very basic farm campsite (was given a portaloo to put up) but it was a base to walk from. I took the direct route up to the trig, quite well marked in very hot weather. The last 100m was a sweat but worth it. On top were marvellous views of Holyhead Bay and beyond. A friendly father and daughter were there, she took the photo. Walked back down towards Holyhoead and returned by much the same route missing out the trig via N Stack and S Stack.

Best approached from the Holyhead Breakwater Country Park and follow the Landrover Track up before scrambling up the narrow footpaths to the top. Spectacular 360 degree views all around and made me realise what a mad cap idea it was to walk all the way around Anglesey in BOTH directions in 2019. The Breakwater in the Harbour that can be seen is 1.5 miles long! I understand Holyhead Mountain is the highest point on the whole of Anglesey, just slightly higher than the highest point on the main island of Anglesey, which is Mynydd Bodafon. I was rather pleased to do both on the same day.

Think all the Welsh weather has been too much for me, just starting on an evil cold, still make it to county top of what legislatively is classed as Yns Mon (with an accent on the o) (not Gwynedd in the past and nor is it now!). A cool but beautifully sunny day, walk all the way round from South towards North Landing, choughs and herring gulls for company. A confusing and wild space, despite the flatness and towns so near by got a trace of the Ardgour in it's tricksy igneous gleam.

After descending and re-ascending the steps to South Stack I then followed the coast path in nice sunshine further south around Abraham's Bosom. I continued a few miles more along and then I cut back across towards Holyhead, stopping off to have a look at the interesting standing stones at Penrhosfeilw along the way.
