Started to walk to this trig from the B6136 on a footpath towards Holywell farm, and was politely informed that the footpath was now closed. I informed the guy of my intention to visit the trigpoint and he gladly gave me permission to walk up a short track and scramble through brambles and nettles :-( Not much of a view. Stung and scratched, but still worth it !

Plenty of footpath notices / keep out signs / newly erected barbed wire fences / mud / a partially infilled quarry and horses on my way to this one. Fortunately no horses on the trig field and gates lying open made access easier. Pillar unchanged since last log.

The land to the south and east of the trig point is being developed for a new stadium (10,000 seater ). Don't know if this will included the trig area, I hope not. The footpaths are being diverted from the 28th of February, the plan shows the path still going through the farm but then up and along the edge of the wood, then due east towards the minor road, not along the edge of the motorway.

Relatively easy to access, with permission, and quite visible when reached. I parked in the Gala Bingo car park off the main road to the west. Then walked up the Holywell Farm drive. As there was quite a lot of activity I asked permission which was readily granted. Then walked up track, branching right to reach pillar. Everything in good order but now only has a plastic plug. Pillar location somewhat enclosed to say that it is on top of the hill. You get the views as you descend the track.

Instead I ended up hopping over some fences, bagging the trig then coming back along the farm track.
