Parking on Hope mountain road squeezing onto the verge just past the farm. Reviewing the access options we referenced previous log (Painterman61) and called at the farm. Confirming Painterman's comments about the farmer. He was happy for use to go through the farm and invited us to walk out to the edge of the field to take the views to the South. Well impressed with the trig and its substantial platform. I doubt this Pillar is going anywhere anytime soon! Plug filled. Very good 360- views, but I am here on top of a hill moaning out metal masts again.

I note some comments about a mad dog in the farm passing up to this trig. As a responsible walker of many years I would like to point out that there is no public footpath to this summit and it is permissive access only by way of the kindly farmer who owns the "mad dogs" so pleas be grateful he allowed you access without a quibble. No point in upsetting him for others to loose the ability to take in the views across Cheshire Shropshire Flintshire Denbighshire and Derbyshire
